Elena Walch is considered a pioneer in Alto Adige, not only for the fact that she was one of the most important female winemakers in Italy, but also for introducing innovation into the region. Marrying into the Walch family she gained access to some of the best parcels of fruit, and subsequently sought to improve production from soil to bottle.

Pinot Noir "Ludwig" shows its intense brilliant ruby colour and an elegant concentration and refinement. The bouquet is characterized by fresh notes of cherries and red currants combined with spicy aromas with a touch of pepper and toasted notes. On the palate the wine releases all its body and elegance, its tannins present, a fruity and filigree structure and a harmonious game between delicate spicy notes and youthful freshness - with great potential and persistence.

Awarded ‘Best Pinot Noir of Italy’ at the ‘2024 Pinot Noir Days’ national Italian Pinot Noir Competition
