Ca’ dei Frati is today a benchmark name in Italian wine, famous for fresh white wines that also age beautifully. In 1939, Felice Dal Cero planted their roots in the town of Sirmione, Lugana, sitting at the southern end of Lake Garda, with vineyards straddling the regional border between Lombardy in the west and Veneto in the east. Learning from his father in the field and cellar, Felice’s son Pietro bottled his first DOC (Denominazione di Origine Controllate) label in Lugana in 1969, and was a prominent figure in the creation of this Lugana DOC.

The grapes of every vineyard in Lugana di Sirmione and Valpolicella at Pian di Castagne are estate-grown and are vinified separately in order to gain a clearer vision of the expressions of the terroir. Winemaking takes place with the utmost respect for the raw material through innovative techniques refined over the years that enables us to obtain full-bodied wines with great longevity.
